Chili Recipe

I had a few request for my Chili recipe last week so I thought I would share. It is really easy!

Brown 1 pound of ground beef - drain off all the fat after browning - I use the same pot I'm fixing the Chili in to brown the burger.

Mix in 1 package of Chili powder

Add 2 large cans of diced tomato's (this is where I usually add my home grown frozen sauce but since I had to throw out this years efforts due to the lack of electricity I switched to canned) I used the brand that had onions in it but if you want you can also add a diced onion.

Add 1 large can of Chili beans, 1 can of Black beans and 1 diced green pepper.

Cut the tops off 3 hot chili peppers and add peppers to the pot while simmering - I remove these at the end before serving.

Add 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon - it's good for you and taste yummy.
Simmer on the stove for about an hour.

After simmering for an hours add Spaghetti to taste ... I know this is a Kentucky thing but I don't think of Chili as being Chili without the spaghetti - I add it dry right in the pot, some people I know make it on the side and serve the chili on top at the table. Continue to simmer until the spaghetti is cooked.

That's it! Simple, easy and tasty. I freeze the leftovers in single serving containers and take to work for lunches.

Wow, that's really different from what we do in the southwest. Very interesting recipe. I don't think I've ever had chili with spaghetti or cinnamon. Sounds like a tasty recipe.

I agree.... unusual recipe, and I'm going to try it. See if my husband can tell me what the secret ingredient is (cinnamon... new to me, too!) We love chili, and this is the time for it.
