WOW Breast Cancer Fund Raiser Block

While in the hotel in the morning waiting for my roommate to get ready for the day, I worked on my CQI fund raiser block. I usually don't encrust my blocks but most of the other blocks for this quilt are encrusted so I'm working hard to fill in the blank spaces. It's coming along and should be finished and in the mail to Leslie soon. (Click on any of the pictures in my blog to get a closer look.)

What about you? Do you do a lot of encrusting on your blocks or do you tend to do more seam work and let the fabrics stand out? Personally I like the look of both and plan to try the encrusted look more often.

Don't forget to scroll down to the Think Pink - Pay It Forward Post and leave a comment! I will be holding the drawing on September 9th. All it takes to enter is a comment on the post.

Think Pink - Pay It Forward

I'm thinking pink today and decided to offer up a Pink Package to Pay It Forward for the great gift I received a couple of weeks ago from Cindy. If you want to play along and are willing to send out a Pay It Forward gift after you receive this one then please leave a comment and let me know.

It's been a busy month for me and summer is winding down. I'm leaving today for my last conference of the summer! The EGA Golden Gala is being held in Louisville, Kentucky this week and I'll be taking a week off from work and attending classes and all the surrounding events involved with this grand event. I'm busy packing my bags for classes right now and I'll be online when I can this week.

I'll hold the drawing next weekend when I'm home from the EGA conference. Be sure to leave a comment sometime before Saturday September 9th, 2008 and check back to see if you won!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last weeks of summer ... for those in this part of the world and for those on the other side of the globe I guess you guys are getting ready for spring! One of my favorite times of the year. Better get back to packing ...

Pay It Forward Gift

My Pay It Forward Gift arrived from Cindy this weekend and it was fun to receive the post card in the mail without it being in an envelope. The butterfly was hanging on by a thread but it arrived safely. There also is a black mark down the middle (see the white fabric) that looks like it got stuck in a machine at the post office but it arrived! Now I will have to figure out what I have to pay it forward to the next lucky person.

I've got bunco at my house this week so I'm busy putting away all my stash and stuff. This will be the first time the ladies have seen my new wall and my closet so I have to tidy up the closet also. Amazing how things pile up in just 4 short months.

As soon as I can I'll post a block to send on to a new home! I know which one I'm going to send I just have to find it!

Gift to my Readers - Pay It Forward

I pieced this block as a gift to one of my readers as part of a "pay if forward" I received from Pat Winters a while back. All you have to do to win is leave me a comment and I will draw a name out of the hat. The block is pieced out of dupinoi silk and is approximately 9 inches square.

So if you want to join in the fun and are willing to pay it forward to someone else - weather it be something you made or even a nice little squishee - be sure to leave a comment. I'll draw a winner Sunday evening!
