I was looking more for threads and silk ribbon for my crazy quilts as I browsed the vendors at the show. Here is a quick view of some of my bounty!

I admit I don't usually hoop my projects but I'm taking a class at the EGA National Convention next week and one of my classes requires several different hoop sizes. I already have a few hoops but I went ahead and picked up these smaller sizes because they were sizes I didn't have.

I may never use them again but I'm keeping an open mind and will see if I like using hoops. I'm still missing one of the hoop sizes listed on the supply list and hopefully I will be able to pick it up from one of the vendors at the EGA Convention - if not I'll just have to make due with what I have.

It gets expensive making sure you have all the items teachers put on their supply list. And then they also require a kit for the class. Learning isn't cheap but it sure is fun! The charms aren't for class ... they were just too cute to pass up.

Last but not least I picked up these packs of Post Card and ATC's backs. Remember I said I wanted to try my hand at making Post cards ... I thought these backs would come in handy when I make them. I think I could dye my own also. This gives me an idea ... oh goodie another project. I need to get my dyes and paints out and see what I come up with.

While I was in Omaha I had the pleasure of receiving two very special pieces of art from fabric artist Martha Green. I wish I could link you to a web site or a blog featuring her work but I don't think she has one yet. But there was a rumor going around that she may be thinking of getting one! I hope so because I love her work and would like to see more of it!





I have to admit until now I've kind of just ignored all the post card sites and swaps ..... thinking I was just too busy to join in the fun. But now after seeing these up close and in person I'm going to give them a try.

I'd appreciate any tips on constuction that you my great readers may have to get me started .... please leave me a comment if you have made them before and let me know how you do them! Thanks in advance for all your help!

Amazon has always been very smart with their marketing. By offering free shipping on purchases over $25 they almost guarantee you will buy more than one book! I always do and this time was no different. I guess you can never have too many books! I added these two to my collection this week to motivate me and maybe show me a technique or two on my journey into fabric post card construction!

I also checked out a few blogs for some tips on making a fabric post card. Most of them recommended 'fast2fuse' interfacing for the middle section of the post cards. So of course I had to order some! Now I just have to play around with this and see what I come up with.
