While in Omaha I saw a Artist Trading Card made by Martha Green using really, really, tiny sequins! I have never seen them this small and was fascinated by them.

When I came home a friend sent me a link where I could buy these tiny little sequin so I jumped in and bought 7 different packages.

After they arrived I knew I would never use all of these 2mm sequin so if anyone wants to share some of these check out my CQ Treasures Blog. I put together several smaller variety packs and will offer them to the those who may want to give them a try but don't want to invest a lot just to try them out!

What a week this has been. I always love going on vacation but coming back and catching up at work takes it out of me. I come home from work exhausted and don't feel like doing a thing. Then when the weekend comes I'm so busy doing chores I don't feel like stitching. Bummer!

I've taken advantage of this weekend and the beautiful weather by working in the yard. I took out about 5 small trees - 4 to 6 feet tall that were not where I needed them. Talk about a job! I'm so sore this morning I can barely move! But the job is done for another year and I'm happy to report the yard is starting to look better. Amazing how many weeds and things can sprout in less than a month.

Here are some of the fibers I dyed in my class in Omaha. I finally took the time to sort them out and hang them up ... ready to inspire me when I can start stitching again. Speaking of which I think I will see if I can't do a little this afternoon.

The 2007 Crazy Quilt Retreat Auction! Every year an auction is held to raise money for breast cancer research and scholarships for next year's retreat. This year we had a few angels in attendance!

Nancy Kirk really goes into action as she auctions off all the crazy goodies.

Mona, Kate and a friend share a secret as they decide what to bid on the next item. The auction is always a big event at the CQ Retreat and as you can see from all the brown bags there was plenty to bid on in the silent portion of the auction.

Kathy K. won these great threads, laces and motifs during the auction.

Nark and other's helped Nancy Kirk (sitting in the center) as she auctioned off lots of items! There was so much to bid on this year that it was easy to spend what little money you had left from shopping at Manglesen's and all the great vendors at the show.

I took a class at the Crazy Quilt Retreat in Omaha called Mud Pie Dyes. It was taught by Jay Rich and I learned some new techniques for dyeing trim and fabrics.

Class is over in this shot and Jay is cleaning up! I didn't bring my camera out until the end so you can imagine what it looked like during class!

Mary Anne Griffin was very serious about her work.

After this piece dried it was beautiful!

I'm back! Omaha was great and lots of fun. Travel wore me out yesterday as I was messed up by the storms in Chicago.

I think I'll take a nap this afternoon and finish unpacking tonight then I'll try to post a couple of pictures. Unfortunately I never seemed to have my camera when I wanted to take a picture so I didn't get many. Let's hope others did better than I did and they will post more pictures. I did a lot of shopping, eating and visiting - what fun!! We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Cedar Street.
