I started this block in Omaha and set it aside when I got home. I decided to pull it out today and do a little work on it. I'm thinking it may be a good block to make into a purse. Several of the pieces are my hand painted fabrics.

I did a fabric swap with Kate from the Quiltropolis CQ list and in return she sent me some charms for the travel quilt I'm currently collecting 'stash' for. These 2 charms are both great for me because I studied in New York at the Fashion Institute while I was in college and I've always loved to vacation in the tropics! Thanks Kate.

These are some of the laces Kate included in the swap. I can't wait to get out my dyes and see what I can create!

It has been really hot here this week. We broke two records for hot days and I was really glad we finally had a 'cold' front go through yesterday. From 105 - 106 degrees down to 95 degrees! I guess I have to be thankful for little things!

Those laces are beautiful. Do you know where Kate got them? What do you use to dye your lace?

Hi Karen, my gosh! I sure am glad we were in Kentucky when we were. I just don't know if I could 106 degrees! Glad you got a "cool front" now! Not that 95 is cool by any means but at least it's tolerable!

Those laces are gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you do them.

Hugs!

These blocks are beautiful. FYI, a crazy quilt won best of show at the Kentucky State Fair. A picture is on my blog, or go check it out in the South Wing "A" building. It's in a wooden display case near the cakes.

Karen, I have a doll size crazy quilt on my blog. If you go to the fair, it's in the antique section near the textiles.
