One of my favorite memories as a little girl is one of visiting my Grandmother and seeing all her quilts. She lived on a farm and in between all her farm chores she quilted. I remember thinking I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

She would make a quilt a month from start to finish. All her quilting was done on a frame that was suspended from the ceiling. She would lower it when she was working on a project and raise it up out of the way when she wasn't working. A really efficient system!

This is a sample of one of my first efforts in traditional quilting. LOL...when I look at it now I think of all the things I would do different but for a first try with hand piecing and hand quilting I think I did pretty good. One day I may take a stab at adding more quilting stitches and a few beads to it. But for now it hangs on my bathroom wall for all to enjoy! My love of purple has a long history.
