I sometimes wonder about the right brain – left brain issue, especially after returning from a gathering of very creative people. I come home with my mind filled with ideas and worry that I will never find the time to complete even a fraction of them.

It seems like when I’m working and earning the money to expand my creative side I sometimes feel stifled and don’t want to create. Kind of like one cancels out the other.

I was wandering around on the web the other day and found a site that offers free online classes. Pendaflexlearningcenter.com

They are offering a class on Michael J. Gelb’s “How to Think like Leonardo da Vinci”.

It sounded intriguing so I signed up for it and started taking the lessons. I’m hoping that by working on some of the exercises I will become more focused on the real me and what I really want out of life. I also ordered the book from the local library and I’ll be interested to see if this helps me sort through my current state of mind. I know that is a tall order but I have to start somewhere!

One item that immediately jumped out at me was “Remember you are more than your mind. Clearing clutter will help you to think more logically.” I’ll post a picture of my studio when I get home this evening and let you see why I feel overwhelmed sometimes. Clearing it out has been one of my goals for this summer and now I think I’m ready to tackle it.

Karen, it does my heart good to see your studio! Is that a sewing machine hiding under the fabric? LOL Just today, I started sorting out some boxes of fabric to get rid of the pieces I don't love. Only found a couple of pieces so far, so don't seem to be making much progress getting rid of anything.
